Silicocarnotite: Novel Silicate Bioceramic With Osteogenic Property for Repairing Rat Cranial Critical-Sized Bone Defects
نویسندگان
چکیده
Critical-sized bone defects are an intractable orthopedic disease which often fails to regenerate spontaneously and requires additional intervention. Current therapies, including autografts allografts, not always satisfactory. Herein, the novel calcium phosphate bioceramic-containing silicon (CPS) with a carnotite structure was synthesized. In present study, CPS prepared for investigating biocompatibility bioactivity in vitro vivo comparison hydroxyapatite (HA). Our results showed that bioceramics had favorable rBMSCs could adhere on surface well . Moreover, promote osteogenic differentiation of expression marker genes, ALP, Runx-2, BSP, OCN, OPN. , micro-CT, histomorphometry, histology analyses significantly enhanced critical-sized calvarial healing compared HA. Overall, study demonstrated satisfactory bioactivities capacities, be potential option reconstructing defects.

Bioceramic Implant Induces Bone Healing of Cranial Defects
Autologous bone or inert alloplastic materials used in cranial reconstructions are techniques that are associated with resorption, infection, and implant exposure. As an alternative, a calcium phosphate-based implant was developed and previously shown to potentially stimulate bone growth. We here uncover evidence of induced bone formation in 2 patients. Histological examination 9 months postope...

The repair of critical-sized bone defects is still challenging in the fields of implantology, maxillofacial surgery and orthopaedics. Current therapies such as autografts and allografts are associated with various limitations. Cytokine-based bone tissue engineering has been attracting increasing attention. Bone-inducing agents have been locally injected to stimulate the native bone-formation ac...

Osteoinductive scaffolds are required for bone tissue engineering. The aim of the present study was to assess the osteoinductive capacity of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)/protamine complexes in a rat model of critical-size calvarial defects. In addition, we investigated whether cultured mesenchymal-like cells (DP-cells) outgrown from DNA/protamine complex engrafted defects could differentiate to ...
متن کاملRepair of critical sized cranial defects with BMP9-transduced calvarial cells delivered in a thermoresponsive scaffold
Large skeletal defects caused by trauma, congenital malformations, and post-oncologic resections of the calvarium present major challenges to the reconstructive surgeon. We previously identified BMP-9 as the most osteogenic BMP in vitro and in vivo. Here we sought to investigate the bone regenerative capacity of murine-derived calvarial mesenchymal progenitor cells (iCALs) transduced by BMP-9 i...
متن کاملSimvastatin and biphasic calcium phosphate affects bone formation in critical-sized rat calvarial defects.
PURPOSE To investigate the effects of locally applied simvastatin plus biphasic calcium phosphate (BoneCeramic(r)) or collagen sponge on bone formation in critical-sized bone defects. METHODS Thirty defects of 5mm in diameter were created bilaterally with a trephine bur in the calvariae of fifteen Wistar rats. The defects were divided into five groups: group 1 - control, no treatment; group 2...
